3 Days Murchison Falls

DAY 0

Situated in the North west of Uganda , it is our biggest National Park bisected by the mighty River Nile. Visit to the top of the falls, game drives to view giraffes, elephants, lions, and buffaloes, a magical launch cruise on the Nile are but a few of the activities you can do. For the ardent anglers, catching an 80kg Nile Perch is the norm rather than the exception. Murchison Falls National Park is situated 305km form Kampala in the west of Uganda. It is about 4.5 hours from Kampala. The Park comprises of itself, Bugungu and Karuma Wildlife reserves. This is where the Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and cascades down to become a placid river whose banks are thronged with hippos and crocodiles, waterbucks and buffaloes. The vegetation is characterized by savannah, riverine forest and woodland. Wildlife includes lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeests, oribis, Uganda kobs, Chimpanzees, and many bird species including the rare shoebill stork. Stay at the beautiful Paraa Safari Lodge with its large swim up bar pool overlooking the Nile.

DAY 1

Morning pick up from your overnight accommodation in Kampala. Start 4 - 5 hour drive to Murchison falls National Park. Transfer to the magnificent top of the falls where you will enjoy your picnic lunch as you marvel at the mighty Nile forced into a seven Metre crevice to thunder 45 metres below in a series of cascades. The Nile can be viewed at different points up to the Baker’s Summit. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge. (L,D)

DAY 2

After an early morning breakfast, embark on a half day game drive on the northern bank of the river Nile. Escorted by game ranger, you may opt for a game walk while trailing animals and studying animal spoors. Game in this area include Giraffe, Elephant, Hart beast, Lion, Uganda Kob, Oribi and a variety of savannah and woodland birds. After lunch, take a Nile cruise for game viewing at close quarters. This is a paradise of the Hippo and Crocodiles the boat takes you to the bottom of the falls. Dinner and Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge. (B,L,D)
