3 Days Kibale Forest: primate walks, fascinating forest birding, and sight-seeing

DAY 1

Transfer from Kampala to Fort portal We leave after Breakfast to take the journey from Kampala to the West of Uganda through Mubende; Lunch en-route. The route travels through breathtaking scenery and delightfully rolling plantations. Arriving at Fort Portal, we’ll travel on to Rwenzori Travellers Inn or Mantana Camp for overnight and dinner. DAY 2

Chimp tracking, primate viewing, Bigodi swamp excursion After breakfast, set off to Kibale Forest in search of its families of habituated chimpanzees. This dense tropical forest is home to an astonishing 12 species of primates and provides one of the highest primate densities in the world. While on our guided forest walk you’ll find families of chimps and red Colobus monkeys chattering and swinging through the ancient forest trees. After lunch go to Bigodi swamp walk for birding in search of more primate species, and more spectacular - the rear wetland sitatunga and the Shoebill.

DAY 3

Forest walk, return to Kampala through Mubende After Breakfast, we will take a brief forest nature walk before we leave for our return journey to Kampala.
